There are additional educational scholarships available for DeMolays.
- Annually, the DeMolay Foundation of DeMolay International awards scholarships to Active and Senior DeMolays who excel in academics, DeMolay involvement, community/campus activities and show financial need. To qualify, brothers must submit an application and provide the required documentation including transcripts and a letter of recommendation. Application deadline is generally April 1. - The Supreme Council, 33°, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, USA (“Supreme Council”) offers the Sovereign Grand Commander’s Scholarship to individuals to pursue advanced education. Eligibility is extended to members of Masonic youth organizations, so for DeMolay’s that’s you! SGC scholarships are currently $2,000 per year for tuition costs for up to four years. Baccalaureate or graduate degrees in fields associated with service to country and generally perceived as benefiting the human race are eligible. Application deadline is generally April 20. - Additionally, through the Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction, U.S.A., Inc. the Supreme Council offers two different types of national scholarships: Named One-Year/One-Time Scholarships and Named Endowed Scholarships. Check this link to the program descriptions. Note each program has different eligibility requirements and deadlines. - Some local Oregon Masonic Lodges also offer educational scholarships. Be sure you check about availability of any programs from your Chapter sponsoring body or Lodges in your area. Lodges that historically have offered scholarship programs include Eugene Lodge #11, South Umpqua Lodge #72, Newport Lodge #85, Medford Lodge #103, and Warren Lodge #10 among others. Most are local, that is, for high school graduates in the city or county near the Lodge so check for eligibility but do check.
